Buenos Aires, Argentina Duck Hunts

Partridge / Perdiz
The province of Buenos Aires offers the finest duck hunting in the world. The agriculture, combined with a large number of potholes, sloughs and marshes, make for extensive duck habitat. In wet years water levels are high and ducks pullulate; in dry years water levels drop, and some potholes even dry up. Some ducks move elsewhere but those that remain are concentrated on fewer potholes. Either way, the visiting shooter wins out.

Buenos Aires Province enjoys a moderate climate, with short, mild winters and long, hot summers. The duck season runs May through early August. .

Buenos Aires provides many different species of duck. You may see Comb, Muscovy, Yellow Billed Pintail, Cinnamon Teal, Southern Wigeon, Black-Bellied Whistling, Lake Duck, Masked, Rosey-Billed Pochard, Brazilian, Red Shoveler, Black-Headed, Ringed Teal, Fulvous Whistling, Speckled Teal, Silver Teal and a few others.  From the middle of May until the end of August, you will also be able to hunt the famous perdiz (Spotted Nothura), which has a limit of (12) per day.
